Relaxation for Living Institute (RFLI) Relaxation & Stress Management Teacher Course
Description
You can't stop stressful things happening in your life, but you can minimise their harmful effects. The RFLI simple self-help methods are entirely evidence-based and have been developed over 35 years and have transformed the lives of more than 100,000 people. RFLI techniques are recommended by health-care professionals throughout the NHS and private practice.
On this, the RFLI Teacher Course, delegates will be shown how to help people cope with anxiety and stress. Successful completion of this course allows delegates to acquire (cost included) a Licence to teach Relaxation and Stress Management for the Institute for the following 12 months.
Who should attend?
Anyone wanting to learn more about the proactive and reactive issues relating to stress management, and those who are interested in developing a satisfying part-time career by teaching the RFLI Method of Relaxation and Stress Management to small groups, supported by the RFLI DVD and comprehensive website.
Who will the workshop benefit?
On successfully completing this RFLI training course and signing the contract for the licenc
e, delegates will be able to teach people how to relax properly and manage their own stress levels. Delegates will be supported in setting up their own RFL teaching business, delivering the RFLI method to small groups. In addition, Licence holders will have a presence on the RFLI website, be able to chat to other teachers and download all necessary teaching and promotional material free.
Course Overview
On paying and reserving a place on this training course, delegates will be sent the pre-course work needed to be completed prior to the training weekend. This consists of basic physiology and the relaxation method extracted from Laura Mitchell’s book Simple Relaxation as well as some written work to demonstrate a good understanding of what has been read. This process normally takes 2 – 3 weeks part time and delegates will be briefly examined on it at the beginning of the weekend. This is followed by a full weekend of practical training and assessment, which covers:
- Coping with negative thoughts
- Posture, muscle and breathing exercises to relieve tension and anxiety
- How the mind’s perception of events may influence the body’s response
- Lifestyle examination
Course Facilitator

This course will be delivered exclusively by Richard Hilliard, Director of the RFLI, who has been teaching the RFLI method for over 20 years.
