Exploring Effective Facilitation through Neurolinguistic Programming

For an increasing number of people, spending time a facilitator is an essential component of effective working in the 21st century.  Effective facilitation depends on a complex interaction between the dynamics of the state and rhythm of the facilitator and the state and rhythm of those with whom they are working. This workshop doesn’t deal with a ‘right way’ to facilitate, but with how to fully understand the environment most conducive to creating a positive experience for all.

Who should attend?

People new to the role of facilitating or those who have received limited support or training as a facilitator.

Course Overview

This workshop can be made as theoretical or practical as required by the group and flexible in terms of needs.  In order to enable learning outcomes to be achieved in a unique and fun way it will include discussion, debates and a critical exploration of:

  • What facilitation actually is and who facilitators are
  • What prevents effective facilitation
  • The construction of a personal facilitation audit
  • The model of NLP
  • The helpful presuppositions for effective facilitation
  • The value of understanding communication
  • Questioning skills with meta language
  • Effectively giving and receiving feedback
  • The benefits of a support network

Course Facilitator

Andy McCann

Andy McCann is in wide demand as a trainer and coach with clients including businesses and    individuals from the private and public sectors, the health industry and charities. 

He is an internationally published author and writer, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine, and a member of the several organisations including the Vocational Rehabilitation Association (VRA) and DNA Wales, a network of critical management researchers who collaborate with key economy enhancing bodies (e.g. industry associations, private enterprise, higher education and government).
