Understanding stress and pressure and the effect on the system is a pivotal ingredient in achieving success at any level. We can all benefit from understanding key elements of stress management and how it can help to achieve success and improve workplace and personal performance.

Who should attend?

Anyone, especially those who don’t think that they need to or who don’t have the time. Often the most efficient and conscientious workers suffer in silence and become victims of bad stress.

Self awareness is a key principle in being an efficient individual both professionally and personally. Self awareness leads to being a healthy worker and to having a long and healthy retirement.

Course Overview

This workshop can be made as theoretical or practical as required by the group and flexible in terms of needs. In order to enable learning outcomes to be achieved in a unique and fun way it will include discussion, debates and a critical exploration of:

Course Facilitator

Dr Tig CalveDr Tig Calvertrt PhD CPsychol. DCHyp is a Chartered Psychologist,and an experienced Clinical Hypnotherapist, who specialises in helping people with stress or anxiety related issues. A Senior Lecturer in Psychology conducting research focusing on emotion and the brain, Tig has developed her expertise through many years of teaching and clinical work with a range of clients. She has appeared as an expert on a number of television programmes including Paul McKenna I Can Make you Thin and Diet Doctors. Tig’s other areas of specialism include Psychoneuroimmunology;  the interaction between the mind and the body especially in relation to health, and Positive Psychology; the branch of Psychology which studies the strengths and virtues that enable individuals and communities to thrive.

 

Gavin Emerson is a Director of the prestigious Brief & Strategic Therapy (BST) Foundation.  He has a mental health background having been involved in writing and teaching mental health professionals’ specialised Continued Professional Development (CPD) courses for many years.  Some of Gavin’Gavin Emersons specialised therapeutic courses have been awarded post-graduate credits for psychiatrists, doctors and nurses. 

As well as teaching for the BST Foundation, Gavin also regularly lectures at a number of universities on mental health issues and runs private practices at Harley Street, London and Surrey, where he specialises in stress management and is used as an expert in medico legal cases. In addition, Gavin is regularly engaged in an advisory capacity to national organisations on behavioural problems and appears in the national papers and television.
